TWO-N

Hermann Zschiegner

Principal

Hermann’s obsession for visualizing data, combined with his passion for interaction design, is rooted in his background in Architecture. For the past 15 years he has designed data-driven user interfaces and visualizations in the financial service industry. Before launching TWO-N, Hermann was part of the Strategic Architecture Group at the New York Stock Exchange where he worked on UI designs for various trading applications and system monitors. In his role as Creative Director at TWO-N he redesigned the NYSE’s Trading Floor Market Data Displays, tickers and the “Big Board”.

His work at TWO-N has earned numerous awards, including three Webby Award nominations (2010, 2012 & 2014) and three consecutive Communication Arts "Award for Design Excellence"(2010, 2011 & 2012).

Hermann is the co-author and editor of "Various Small Books" (MIT Press, 2013), a book about books about books made in homage or referencing the Artist Books of Ed Ruscha.

Amit Schechter

Principal

Amit has 15 years of experience designing and developing web applications. In early 2000 he got his start as a lead Flash developer at SIAC, working on NYSE’s market data platform Marketrac. Over the years he has focused on building data visualization and user interfaces, as well as large-scale web development projects.

Prior to founding TWO-N, Amit was the Lead UI Developer at Seattle-based startup, Intersect, in charge of design and development of Intersect’s UI. The website allowed users to tell stories through text, images, timelines and maps.

He has also designed and produced real-time 3D graphics for on-air stats and news on ESPN and ABC, as well as interactive virtual environments for command & control and monitoring systems.

Amit’s Wind4D project, an application for viewing detailed weather forecasts won the prestigious Communications Arts Interactive Award, combining his love of the visual display of data with his passion for kite surfing.

Previously Amit was a part-time faculty member at Parsons School of Design / New School University and he is now a co-organizer of the popular D3 Meetup in New York.

Natalie Wesson

Project Manager

Natalie gained years of experience in administration and project management in the non-for-profit domain. At TWO-N, she applies this knowledge and organizational skills to running the studio and keeping the project she manages for us on-track and on time.

She is a gifted communicator and is our much needed rock in the creative chaos of the studio. You will find her roaming the streets of New York – her favorite place in the world, which she is never shy of reminding us.

Paul Dechov

Developer

Paul’s attention to detail may be borderline obsessive, but this makes him the perfect front-end guy at TWO-N. He doesn’t stop until he finds the perfect tween for that impeccable transition.

His knowledge seems at times encyclopedic, which sometimes leaves us scratching our heads, as he tries to explain the most complex topics to us in 5 minutes or less.

Erica Hyman

Developer

A self-proclaimed television junkie, Erica comes to us after a brief stint in regulatory software. She studied Computer Science at the School of Engineering at the University of Rochester and is now part of our front-end dev team.

She is a prolific tweeter (@bigratsgoboom) and pop culture enthusiast and keeps everybody in the office up-to-speed on the latest entertainment news and gossip. Both clients and the entire TWO-N staff appreciate her enthusiasm and cheerful attitude.

Anton Kulikov

Developer

Anton is the geo-map guy on our front-end dev team. He came to us via NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he was a developer on the Earth Now and Eyes on the Earth projects.

In his function as TWO-N’s office DJ he is known to cause equal amount of bliss and controversy. Look out for Anton in the League of Legends arena after hours and on weekends.

Ivy Zheyu Chen

Designer

From the moment Ivy interviewed with us, her impeccable sense for colors, shapes and typography won us over and she has been applying her design sensibility to all project in the studio ever since.

In her role as lead designer at TWO-N she works closely with Hermann to refine the minimalist look and feel of our UI’s and data visualizations.

On weekends don’t be surprised to find her sketching in one of her amazing DIY sketchbooks at a Chelsea gallery.
